Dark volcanic pool tile for dark-bottom pools — water reads as a still reflective plane rather than a coloured basin.
Product Overview
A dark-bottom pool behaves optically like a mirror: rather than colouring the water, it removes the visible floor, so the surface reflects sky and surrounding architecture. It is the specification for pools designed as a still plane within a landscape.
Black lava tile also absorbs solar heat, which raises water temperature slightly — welcome in temperate markets, a consideration in the Gulf where pool cooling may already be part of the design.
Supplied with matching waterline course and coping. For barefoot deck areas we usually recommend a lighter coping to manage surface temperature.
